Kids for Kids Concert

On a very exciting evening Room three got ready to go to the Kids for Kids Concert in Manukau.

The first song that we sang was muppet the show theme. Then we sang happy days, it was a  very cool song.

Our parents were cheering for us. I saw my Mum in the crowd, she was cheering really hard for me, I smiled. I was really happy then it was halftime and we had a break. Our snack from Miss G was a biscuit and a freddo frog chocolate, it was yummy together. A while after we went back on the stage and the curtains opened while the parents started cheering for us. A slide show went on, it was about World Vision. It was talking about the poor people and we were singing for the poor people. After that we sang some more songs.

My favourite was the sister act medley because it was a gospel song. When the song finished it was almost over I was happy but I was sweating.

Finally it was finished, we lined up to go through this door. I found my Mum, she was waiting for me in the foyer. We went in the car and when we got home my uncle joe gave me $20, I said thank you and got inside the house and got my p.j’s on and went to bed.

Cross Country

St Pius X Catholic school participated in Cross Country on Friday 24 August. The students competed in it so that was very exciting. The teachers were the ones that were holding the flags and I saw the parents cheering for their children.

All of the children were sitting in their ages the boys\girls versed each other. Finally it was the nine year olds turn to run. Miss G had blown the whistle so the boys could go then the girls had to step to the yellow line then Miss G said “ready steady and go”. She blew the whistle and we ran really fast. When I was running I saw Mr Gaffney and I ran some more then I saw Mrs Modely holding a flag. She held it on the road so we could cross. I was so tired, after awhile I started to jog and I was running with my friend Ierei. Ierei said “I am really tired” and I said “don’t give up, try your best”. Suddenly I noticed we were almost at school then I saw Miss G. There was one thing that I didn’t know….....we had to go around the courts and I saw Siniva from Room 6. I past her and I went around the cones and back to my line.

At the end of it I was puffed, it felt like I was going to die.

The fruit of the week is a Granny Smith apple.

It is as round as a tennis ball. When it is eaten it sounds crunchy. It also sometimes smells like a grape. The Granny Smith Apple also smells like its fresh and yummy.

Granny Smith apples tastes satisfying and delicious. It is seen on apple trees and the market.

The apple is used for Juices, Desserts and Fruit Salads and it is special because it is healthy.
